WakeUpApp

Rich,
I don't see any way to alter PIM Today to show all active tasks.
I've written a small app that will let you set applications to run when the device wakes up. It will also map the HP Dialup key to run HP Quick View. Of course, it will let you reverse the process as well.
To install, just drop the wakeupapp.exe into either the \windows or the root "My Handheld PC" directory. You can put it somewhere else but these are the most convenient spots.
There is no user interface, it just uses command-line parameters like so:
wakeupapp -on:\windows\hpqview.exe (causes HP Quick View to run when you hit the ON key)
wakeupapp -off:\windows\hpqview.exe (Stops HP Quick View from running)
wakeupapp -mapkey (re-maps the HP Dialup key to run HP Quick View)
wakeupapp -unmapkey (reverts key to original behavior)
wakeupapp -list (shows you a list of apps that are setup to run on unit wakeup)
wakeupapp -help (shows a list of valid options)
wakeupapp /on:\windows\hpqview.exe /list /mapkey (you can specify multiple command and you can use / instead of - if desired...but don't get too fancy because my command-line parser ain't very smart!)
You can specify any program to run on wakeup but some programs may not check to see if it's already running and you will end up with multiple copied of that program running. HP Quick View checks so it's not a problem.

If you end up doing /on for the same app multiple time, a single /off will remove all entries.

To run, either create a shortcut to the exe and add the command line parameters you want or do "Start" "Run" and type the command in or use the "windows key"-R combination to open the run dialog.

Disclaimer: I take absolutely no responsibility whatsoever (other than feeling bad) if the application somehow messes up your HP720 (though there's really not much change that will happen). Remember, always having a current backup is a good idea!

You can get the exe at http://www.bigrube.com/wakeupapp.exe or I can e-mail it to you.

Let me know if you find any bugs or have problems getting it to work...

Hi Ed,
I wrote a little app a while back to allow you to setup an app to start when the unit wakes up. You can read about the useage and where to get it In This Thread.
I modified the app and added 2 new commands:
/listall - this will list all events instead of just wakeup events.
/offx - same as off but I got rid of the file existence check. This is the command you'll need to use since the app is no longer there.

If it doesn't work, send me the results from the /listall and what it is you're trying to get rid of and we might be able to come up with something.

Take care,

John

Conclusion
